Building Approval

LSPOA Application for Permission to Build
Prior to obtaining a Town of Rome building permit for any new construction or remodeling, your project must be approved by the LSPOA Architectural Committee to assure your project conforms to LSPOA Protective Covenants and Restrictions.  Click here for an Application for Permission to Build and related instructions or obtain a copy from the LSPOA Office during normal hours of operation.

Town of Rome Building Permit Requirements
All building in the Town of Rome requires permits.  This includes homes, garages, sheds, mobile homes, decks, commercial buildings, minor construction, remodeling, additions, electric, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, etc.  Any type of building that requires a permit, but is started prior to obtaining said permit is charged a double fee.  Therefore, it is best to check with the Town prior to starting any building to avoid paying that penalty.

Near Shore Structure Permit Required
Building most structures within seventy-five (75) feet of the high water line is not permitted.  Before constructing decks, gazebos, steps, stairs, etc., contact Phil McLaughlin, Adams County Planning & Zoning, at 608-339-4224.
